This song is my latest obsession musically. Spotfiy does this thing now where it continues to play music when you have listened to everything on your playlist. This song and “Walk Away Renee” keeps coming up for me. Interestingly enough, “Walk Away Renee” is name checked in the Belle & Sebastian song “Piazza, New York Catcher. “
So the Left Banke is a 60’s band with an interesting and confuzzling history. The fact that I like the most is that actor Micheal McKean was a member of the group briefly. Pretty Ballerina gets its unique sound as a song written in Lydian mode. Not that I know much about that stuff.
